Buying To Build – Waialae Nui

Buyers in the market for a “piece of paradise” are often surprised to find that vacant land, even very large “pieces,” is available and at prices that look like a bargain in comparison to what similar offerings would command elsewhere. In this “Buying to Build” series, Realtors will comment on listings ranging from multi-acre parcels in the country and on the coast to small lots in city neighborhoods…what they will have in common is that all will offer development potential.

Views simply don’t get any better than this. From three vacant lots crowning Waialae Nui Ridge at 1,350 feet, a panorama of ocean and Oahu coastline stretches out below. The centerpiece is Diamond Head. Viewing the iconic natural landmark from this high point, you feel as though you could hold it in the palm of your hand.

The lots, which have been CPR’d from a larger parcel by the developer, have been listed by Broker Elizabeth Worrall Daily of Mary Worrall Associates Sotheby’s International Realty.

All three lots have been cleared and are ready to be built on, with water and electric available. The gated properties, shown by appointment, can be accessed from a paved road which branches off Halekoa Drive. Prices start at $2,875,000 for a 22,934 square foot rim lot; a 32,977 square foot lot is priced at $3,560,000. The largest of the lots with 35,743 square feet is $3,875,000. All are fee simple.

Worrall-Daily said the CPR’d parcel is one of the largest spreads of vacant view land currently available in the East Oahu Heights. Preservation land and wilderness areas surround the developed properties, creating a sense of rural isolation high above the residential and commercial development of Kahala at the bottom of Halekoa Drive.

The ‘Summit,’ as the developer refers to the property, is a peaceful, serene haven.”
