D.R. Horton Introduces Emerald Homes To Big Island, Kauai Markets
is entering the upscale resort/residential market in Hawaii with its new Emerald Homes product line.
The Emerald Homes brand will be introduced at two Neighbor Island oceanfront upscale communities known for the high quality of their resort amenities, Mauna Kea on the Big Island and Poipu on Kauai.
Waiulaula at Mauna Kea Resort consists of 24 single-family and duplex condominium homes that will incorporate luxury features and conveniences equated with the resort lifestyle. Located in the resort’s uplands development, the gated, secured community is surrounded by the fairways of the Hapuna Golf Course and features panoramic ocean and mountain views.
“The three and four-bedroom homes will be spacious and designed to support Hawaii’s indoor/outdoor lifestyle with open floor plans, vaulted ceilings and expansive lanais,” said Mary Flood, D. R. Horton-Schuler
Homes Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “They will be built and finished to anticipate the needs and desires of buyers who seek out the world’s finest resort destinations … people who appreciate quality and privacy. The homes will offer views of the ocean and golf course, as well as the Kohala Coast and pristine countryside. Fully equipped kitchens will include top-of-the-line appliances, such as Wolf stainless steel gas cooktops and SubZero stainless side-by-side refrigerators.
“Residents will have access to a recreation pavilion with swimming pools, a fitness center and clubhouse,” she added. “Homeowners will also have the option to join The Club at Mauna Kea Resort, which will give them access to golf discounts and a variety of social events.”
On Kauai, D. R. Horton-Schuler Homes has purchased 32 vacant lots on the Kiahuna Golf Course that will be built out as the luxury Emerald Homes at Wainani. Located within Poipu Beach Resort on the sunny south shore of Kauai, known for its excellent sandy swimming and surfing beaches, the new community will offer ocean, mountain and golf course views.
“Homes in our new residential/resort development at Poipu will be built by Emerald Homes and designed by renowned Hawaii architect Philip White,” Flood said. “Each will incorporate an exclusive collection of features and amenities to complement the individual homeowner’s preferences and personal tastes.
“Three floor plans will be offered for sale to accommodate our indoor-outdoor lifestyle — great rooms with vaulted ceilings lead to covered lanai spaces with compelling views. Bedrooms will be spacious, and kitchens feature high-end appliances and designs that invite entertaining.
“For more than 10 years, Emerald Homes has delivered fine residences in 10 states, and we are excited to be introducing this exclusive product line to Hawaii,” continued Flood. “The market we are addressing is one that values world-class golf and dining, a quiet private place to sequester with family and friends, pristine environments and less traveled beaches. We will be able to fulfill this vision with these new communities at Mauna Kea and Poipu.”
