Elegant Design Meets State-of-the-Art Technology
Ae‘o, the third Ward Village residential tower to begin construction, will rise to 40 stories on an approximately three-acre site at the corner of Queen and Kamakee streets. Ae‘o is named for the Hawaiian stilt, a shorebird that inhabited the area when the Ward family purchased it in the 1870s.
“What makes Ward Village so unique is the level of thought and quality that went into building this special community,” said Bill Pisetsky, senior vice president of Sales and Marketing of The Howard Hughes Corporation. “It’s the reason we’ve already sold more than 1,000 homes and Ward Village has become one of Hawaii’s most desired places to live. The perfect example of this tailored experience is at Ae‘o, where residents will enjoy an incredible lifestyle in the heart of Honolulu.”
Ae‘o will comprise 466 condominium homes with a direct connection to Hawaii’s largest Whole Foods Market grocery store. The building’s sleek, contemporary form and interiors have been designed by the U.S. architectural firm Bohlin Cywinski Jackson in collaboration with Architects Hawaii Limited. Ae‘o incorporates the best practices in sustainable development and reflects the environmental sensitivity characteristic of Bohlin Cywinski Jackson’s award-winning projects. The signature “wings” that articulate the building’s facade create spectacular ocean views that optimize natural light and ventilation. Uniquely engineered operable windows enhance views.
The open, thoughtfully designed layouts and floor-to-ceiling windows provide a sense of spaciousness in all homes. Quality interior finishes include wideplank wood floors and custom cabinetry. Kitchens are equipped with stainless-steel Bosch appliances and European plumbing fixtures. Bathrooms feature walk-in showers with an adjacent full-size tub.
Buyers will have a choice of seven interior finish palettes.
Pisetsky noted that, although the tower is already approximately 50 percent sold, excellent locations are available in one-, two-, and three-bedroom plans and are priced from the low $800,000s to approximately $2 million.
Amenities are abundant, some unique to Ae‘o. The Sky Terrace, a rooftop deck available to all residents of the building, will provide panoramic views and include an outdoor bar. With shaded areas for seating during the day, it is also expected to become a popular venue for sunset gatherings and entertaining guests.
The Activity Deck will have two swimming pools, including a 25-meter fitness pool, a dedicated family activity space with a pool and children’s play area, covered dining pavilions and cabanas, barbecue facilities, a full kitchen, climate-controlled gym with top-of-the-line exercise equipment, a wellness center with steam and sauna rooms and a spa treatment area, a private movie theater, lounge for events and parties, private dining room with a catering kitchen, surfboard and bicycle storage, and a dog run.
Three guest suites will be available to residents hosting visiting family and friends. A secured garage, separate from the Whole Foods parking area, will include over 700 homeowner parking spaces.
Located in the heart of Ward Village, Ae‘o is within walking distance of Ward Entertainment Center and hundreds of unique, locally owned shops and restaurants. Also nearby are Neal Blaisdell Center and Ala Moana Beach Park. Community improvements are on the way at Kewalo Basin Harbor, which will undergo a $20 million renovation and expansion.
Ward Village is the largest LEED Platinum neighborhood in the U.S.
