In early 2014, D. R. Horton-Schuler Homes entered the upscale resort/residential market in Hawaii with its Emerald Homes product line.

For more than a decade, Emerald Homes has been delivering fine residences featuring its innovative and luxurious home designs on the Mainland. Last February, Emerald introduced its most recent home designs to the Hawaii market at luxury resort communities on the Big Island and Kauai. Recently, Emerald Homes announced that it will be offering its meticulously crafted homes at a new community on Maui.

Waiulaula model homes and villas at Mauna Kea Resort on the Big Island are now open and priced from $1.9 million. The community is surrounded by the fairways of Hapuna Golf Course and overlooks panoramic ocean and mountain views.

Upscale interior finishes include vaulted ceilings, granite countertops and SubZero refrigerators and wine chillers. Each home has its own private pool, hot tub and outdoor kitchen. The three- and four-bedroom homes and villas have access to the Resort’s recreation pavilion, swimming pool, fitness center and clubhouse.

Emerald Homes at Wainani is located within Kauai’s Poipu Beach resort community and borders the fairways of Kiahuna Golf Club. Three floor plans are designed to take advantage of Hawaii’s indoor-outdoor lifestyle. Oneor two-story single-family homes with attached or detached two-car garages range from 1,942 to 2,283 square feet. Features include porcelain floors at the entry and in kitchen and baths, concealed split system air conditioning and gas tankless water
heating systems. Kitchens are designed for the gourmet cook with solid surface countertops and backsplashes and GE Profile kitchen appliances. Upscale detailing in master bedrooms includes vaulted ceilings, walk-in wardrobe closets and soaking tubs.

“The feeling I wanted to convey at Wainani is one of kamaaina or ‘local’ style — understated, open and welcoming,” said award-winning Hawaii architect Philip “Pip” White, who designed the Wainani homes. “I also wanted to incorporate a timeless design with open floor plans, large doors and lots of windows to allow the homeowner to adjust the level of natural lighting and natural ventilation. Almost every space has easy access to the outdoors, blurring lines from interior to exterior, which is critical for the Hawaii lifestyle.”

New homes at Emerald Homes at Wainani, priced from $1.2 to $1.6 million, are offered for sale by Hannah Sirois, Principal Broker of Kauai Heritage Properties.

The first community of Emerald Homes on Maui, Emerald Homes at Lanikeha, is located at Kaanapali Golf Estates at Kaanapali Resort. Sales of the new single-family homes, which will be offered later this year, are being handled by Realtor Bob Cartwright of Whalers Realty.
