Gentry Celebrates 50 Years Of Building Quality Homes
Fifty years ago, in 1968, Thomas H. Gentry began building homes in Windward Oahu. Since then, Gentry Homes has become a major force in Hawaii’s real estate development industry and, to date, has delivered over 13,000 homes throughout the Islands. From Kailua, Oahu to Kailua-Kona on the Big Island, Tom Gentry’s passion was to build beautiful, well-designed quality homes, with a special focus on first-time homebuyers. His passion continues to be fulfilled to this day.
“Gentry Homes is especially recognized for the acclaimed master-planned communities of Waipio by Gentry and Ewa by Gentry,” said Bob Brant, Gentry’s president and CEO. “We are grateful for each and every new homeowner and for the countless testimonials from families and individuals of all Gentry-built communities.”
Ewa by Gentry now comprises over 8,600 completed homes, which exemplify the company’s dedication to planning, design and customer service. Gentry’s team efforts have resulted in numerous BIA-Hawaii Parade of Homes awards for the best in residential design, functionality and value, including Hawaii Built-Green and the Honolulu City & County’s prestigious Environmental Awards for water and energy conservation. Gentry’s use of preferred building materials and construction methods have helped reduce the carbon footprint in our environment.
The newest Ewa by Gentry communities of SEAbridge and Coral Ridge are recognized across the state for their built-in features and smart technology. SEAbridge offers three- and four-bedroom single family condominium homes starting in the low $500,000 range, and the single-family homes at Coral Ridge begin in the low $700,000s. These new home communities have been well received by today’s homebuyers who appreciate the abundant Gentry VIP (value included in price) features. Ewa by Gentry includes the Coral Creek Golf Course, community parks, shopping centers, churches and nearby beaches.
Tom Gentry also believed in giving back to the communities his company helped to build. Today, Gentry Homes and its employees are motivated by the same spirit of giving, manifested in ongoing support of area schools and youth athletics, provision of college scholarships, and sponsorship of community events, with particular attention to the care and future of keiki, and organizations that serve needy families.
