GUILD MORTGAGE paves the way to homeownership

Guild Mortgage Company gives back to the community through its involvement in numerous programs and nonprofits, including gathering donations for Toys for Tots.
Since 1960, Guild Mortgage Company has been offering creative mortgage loan programs designed to pave the way to homeownership for Hawaii’s people. Guild lenders understand the market and make it a point to find just the right loan product for potential buyers. In addition to USDA, FHA, VA, Conventional Loans, and Jumbo Loans, Guild also offers innovative financing, such as the First Responders Loan Program, which is exclusive to the national company’s Hawaii offices.

This program offers discounts on closing costs for purchase loans and refinancing to active duty military, police, firefighters, ambulance drivers and staff, nurses, doctors, teachers, and now those employed in the hotel industry. Because of overwhelmingly positive response to the “First Responders Loan Program,” first offered by Guild Mortgage in June of last year, the lender extended the application deadline for both new purchase loans and refinancing to Dec. 31, 2017.

Also, last year, Guild announced its “MD and DDS” Special Financing Program that may make it possible to qualify for the purchase of a home despite a high debt to income ratio due to student loans. The new program also applies to refinancing.

In addition to providing borrowers with special discounts that often make the difference in their eligibility to qualify for loans, the company has been actively involved in numerous programs and projects over the years in the spirit of “giving back” to the community. Hawaii regional manager Bill Rizzo and his team have participated each year in the Castle Hospital Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, as well as the Castle Golf Tournaments, and recently donated funds to Shriners

Hospital. Rizzo also serves on the board of Domestic Violence Hawaii and Hawaii First Tee, and is a strong supporter of the Windward Boys and Girls Club, among many other nonprofit agencies.

Guild Waikele sales manager Zelda Medina is currently the Board President for Women In Need, a group she has been active with for four years, and lends her support to other nonprofit organizations, including Toys for Tots. Kailua branch Loan Officer Charlie Ioane does his share of community service through involvement with the Boy Scouts, Special Olympics, and 24/7 Special Needs Dance Group.
