Hawaii Kai Project Debuts At Open Tent
Sales at Laulea Kai Estates, Hawaii Kai’s first new single-family home development in more than a decade, have been launched by exclusive broker LIST Sotheby’s International Realty. A groundbreaking and blessing for the new luxury-home project were held at the site at the corner of Hawaii Kai Drive and Kealahou Street last November. The project has been given CPR approval and is now accepting sales contracts.
Kealahou Development LLC acquired the 1.04-acre vacant parcel from Hawaii developer Bob Gerell last year, completed the site and home designs, and is now ready to start construction. The development team consists of Martijn Guliker, Van Ko and Rui Construction Inc., a local contractor known for attention to detail in its projects. Previously designated for a new roadway, the property lies between Kalama Village Center and Hawaii Kai Golf Course.
Seven two-story homes ranging from 2,400 to 2,700 square feet are being sold together with lots of approximately 5,000 square feet as house/lot packages priced from $1,385,000.
The four-bedroom, three-bath homes will be designed with open floor plans, high ceilings, and floor-to-ceiling glass doors and windows to create a sense of spaciousness, as well as to enhance natural light and ventilation and take advantage of views of Hawaii Kai Golf Course and Koko Crater.
Each home is thoughtfully designed with spacious bedrooms and full bathrooms, including a bedroom and bath on the ground floor, open kitchens with top-of-the-line appliances and second-story view decks.
According to LIST Sotheby’s International Realty principal broker Myra Brandt, response to the project by visitors to the site has been very favorable and reservations have already been placed on several of the homes.
“Laulea Kai epitomizes what today’s affluent buyers are seeking in terms of a quality lifestyle, cutting-edge design, luxury finishes and sweeping views. We are enthusiastic about this project and especially pleased to be working with Kealahou Development to bring it to the community.
“Location is one of the great features of this exclusive enclave of single-family homes — it is convenient to everything. Shopping and dining options offered by the three Hawaii Kai shopping centers are close-by, as are elementary, middle and high schools, which are features that would delight families, as well as those who love to entertain,” Brandt said.
“An amazing variety of recreational opportunities is available in this corner of Oahu:
Maunalua Bay for boating and fishing, Koko Head, Sandy Beach, Hanauma Bay, two golf courses, public tennis courts, hiking trails, an equestrian facility, botanical gardens … all just a few minutes away by car or by bicycle. The Oahu Club, a private club with 24-hour fitness facilities, an Olympic-size swimming pool and swimming lessons for children, is just up Hawaii Kai Drive,” she added.
Sales team member Realtor Greg Kerner noted, “There are very few sites available in Hawaii Kai for this type of new, custom home community, and certainly none with the incredible surroundings and views Laulea Kai Estates provides. The peaceful, island-style setting is really not very far from the urban centers of Hawaii Kai and Honolulu, but just far enough!”
An interactive website for Laulea Kai at lauleakai.com enables the user to do a project “walk-through.” LIST Sotheby’s International Realty will hold an “open tent” at the site March 20, where visitors can view the interior-finish material boards, walk the property and obtain brochures.
