Hawaii’s Luxury Condos
Allure Waikiki, West Waikiki’s newest luxury condominium residence, was completed in 2010 and sold out in late 2013. Rising to 35 stories on a 2.25 acre site at 1837 Kalakaua Avenue, Allure includes 291 one, two, and three bedroom fee simple units, two of which are now being offered as resales by LIST Sotheby’s International Realty.
Developed by the Chicago-based Fifield Companies, designed by Architects Hawaii, and constructed by Charles Pankow Builders, Allure was named “Residential Building of the Year” by the Institute of Real Estate Management. An attractively landscaped park-like area with native Hawaiian plants, ponds, and a fountain designed by landscape architects PBR fronts the building. Finishes in the open-air lobby and residential units are by Philpotts & Associates.
Amenities include a 19,500 square foot recreation deck with an infinity-edge heated swimming pool, a fully-equipped, state-of-the-art fitness center with views of the pool and gardens, barbecue areas, and meeting rooms. Hawaiiana Management provides management services for the owners association, which retains a general manager.
Residential apartments are on floors six through 35. Parking for residents and visitors is located on five floors in the structure. Unit sizes range from 833 to 1,633 interior square feet, and all have outdoor lanais. Most have city or mountain views and overlook the gardens and recreation areas. Finishes and furnishings include hardwood flooring in the entry foyer, kitchen, living room, and hallways, natural stone countertops and custom wood cabinetry in kitchens and baths, Viking stainless steel appliances in the kitchens, and a washer/dryer.
A corner penthouse unit on the 35th floor has been co-listed by LIST Sotheby’s International Realty Realtors Yukiko Yang and Sachiko Trillo at $2,410,000 fee simple. The 1,234 square foot interior is augmented by a 317 square foot wraparound lanai. Views of the ocean, Waikiki, and Diamond Head are enhanced by floor to ceiling windows. Yang noted that the large master suite includes a finely appointed bath with a walk-in soaking tub with marble surround, granite counters, and a double vanity. “Among the desirable features of the penthouse unit are the high ceiling and the extra large lanai which can be set up for outdoor dining…also this unit comes with two parking spaces. The view of Diamond Head and Waikiki is equally spectacular by day or night, and can even be enjoyed from the master bedroom,” Yang said.
The largest corner end unit in the building, located on the 30th floor, has been co-listed by Trillo and Yang at $1,350,000 fee simple. The two bedroom, two bath, 1,381 square foot condo overlooks a mountain and city panorama. “The dramatic view is particularly mesmerizing at night with its sparkling city lights. Because of the corner location, you can enjoy the view either from your living room or the lanai. This spacious unit has walk-in closets and lots of storage. The owner has installed upgrades in the bathrooms and automatic blinds in the living room. Floor to ceiling windows admit great natural lighting. Although the units have central air conditioning, you have the option of opening windows in all rooms or the sliding glass door to the lanai for natural ventilation,” Trillo said.
The Realtors emphasized the convenience of the location at the edge of Waikiki with numerous options for shopping and dining close-by.
