Since it was established as an up-scale resort destination three decades ago, Kapalua has continued to project an image of quality and luxury, in both its resort and residential properties.

Luxury home neighborhoods have grown up around the visitor infrastructure, which includes world class hotels and two championship golf courses that attract an international clientele and host major tournaments.

One of Kapalua’s larger private estates, located in the exclusive gated Plantation Estates community, has recently been placed on the market by Z Properties at $7,360,000. Designed by Maui architecture and design firm Kasprzycki Designs, Inc., the palatial home is situated on 6.68 acres on Honolua Ridge. It commands a spectacular 180 degree view of the ocean, coast, and neighbor islands of Molokai and Lanai.

Completed in 2008, the home was designed by Atom Kasprzycki in collaboration with the original owner, a Maui general contractor, and his wife, a specialist in Feng Shui design. “Working with an owner/builder made the process of programming and design very fluid and effortless,” Kasprzycki said. “The exterior of the home is finished with stucco and a combination of natural and composite stone. The roofing material is a slate style concrete tile. The interior is finished with natural stone, custom cabinetry and millwork, with touches of Classic and Baroque architectural elements, such as the coved and curving coffered ceilings in the living room and master bedroom, the fresco adorned quadripartite vault over the foyer, and the composite stone Tuscan and Corinthian columns used on the exterior and interior of the residence. The structure is oriented so the spectacular views can be enjoyed from all major living areas. This is a home built to last and one that can accommodate a large family as well as owners whose lifestyle involves entertaining friends and guests. ”

According to Kasprzycki, whose firm has designed 11 luxury residences in the Kapalua resort area, numerous special features and high quality finishes have been incorporated into the home. Chiseled travertine flooring is complemented by custom hardwood cabinetry and trim. The kitchen features imported stone surfaces, a unique wide basin hammered copper sink, and a Viking cooktop with a built-in wok station. A breakfast room overlooks the swimming pool. Electronic features include a security system, whole home audio system, flat panel televisions in bedrooms and the living room, and CAT 5 network wiring. Gas fireplaces are located in the living room and master bedroom. Light sconces provide dramatic lighting effects throughout the home.
