With frontage on one of the best sections of the three mile beach that rims Kailua Bay, the estate at 210 North Kalaheo has been described by Coldwell Banker Pacific Properties Realtor and Vice President Tracy P. Allen as a “mini resort.” She adds that the largest, most luxurious property currently available on the beach is also a “very comfortable, well designed home ideal for both family living and entertaining.”

“The owners recognized that this is one of the most sought-after beachfront locations on Oahu and wanted to create the kind of high quality residence the site deserves…one that would both take advantage of the spectacular ocean views from all major living areas and provide privacy,” Allen said.

In order to achieve their goals, they purchased a lot that extended from the street to the shoreline and subdivided it into three parcels which together create this luxury estate. The main house, an expansive 15,000-plus square feet including lanais and poolside cabana, is situated on the largest of the lots with 100 linear feet of beach frontage. A separate 2,730 square foot guest quarters occupies a 12,500 square foot lot in the middle of the property. A 10,100 square foot lot at the entrance to the estate has been kept in open space. The landscaped property includes tropical flowering plants and trees, several species of palms, a mature monkeypod from the original estate, and a manicured lawn that extends to the shoreline. Paved walkways connect the various outdoor living areas. In the central courtyard is a free form swimming pool with waterfalls, an elevated hot tub, and outdoor dining areas. Two garages and paved driveways provide parking for up to 15 cars.

“The designers collaborated with the owners to create a perfect indoor-outdoor home,” Allen said. “The architectural features and finishes are elegant but at the same time appropriate for beachfront living…such as limestone flooring on the ground level. Details such as board and batten siding, lava rock walls, and shake roofing are reminiscent of ‘old Hawaii’ beachfront homes.

“Four of the five bedroom/ bath suites are on the upper level, and one at the ground level opening out to the poolside lanai. Three more bedrooms and baths are located in the guest house. The master suite includes a wet bar and seating area. The bath is unique…spacious and luxurious with a beautiful onyx tub and finishes, a large walk-in shower with multiple jets, and a separate steam shower. A theater/media room includes state-of-the-art built-in equipment and lounge chair seating for eight. Cabinetry, trim, door and window casings, and plantation shutters are crafted with rich African mahogany. Electric blinds in all main areas roll up into custom crown molding. The kitchen, which is equipped with a double gas range and top-of-the-line appliances, includes casual dining areas and opens to a large formal dining area. All rooms have views of either the beach and ocean or the interior courtyard and gardens, some overlooking both through retractable glass walls.”

Allen is offering the estate for $24,950,000 and showing it by appointment. Only two other sales in the area have closed for over $24 million in the past five years, both of them Allen listings.
