Luxury Townhomes Offer Ocean Views, Distinctive Designs

Situated on a nine-acre terraced hillside overlooking the Wailea coastline, the new Makalii townhome community was recently added to Armstrong Development’s successful projects in West Maui. The 68-unit luxury townhome development went to market earlier this year, and half of the units in the first release have been sold. Remaining two- and three-bedroom units are priced from $1,249,000 to $1,995,000.

Makalii is a project of Armstrong Development and the Burrard Group. The Wailea Group was selected to exclusively represent Makalii at Wailea. Project sales director Nancy J. Callahan (RB) said, “The interest in Makalii at Wailea has been extraordinary, which is not surprising, given the location, the architecture, the views and the amenities. People who know Wailea are paying attention. This is proven by the fact that we now have 16 units under contract since our launch event in February.” She noted strong interest from local, Mainland U. S. and Canadian buyers.

The new community is within walking distance of Polo Beach, one of the best sandy beaches on the Wailea coast. Residents will be able to enjoy unobstructed views of the ocean, spectacular sunsets, the island of Molokini and activity of migrating whales who visit these waters during spring months. Close by are three 18-hole golf courses of Wailea Golf Club, Wailea Tennis Club and the Shops at Wailea with 70 retail outlets, including fashion boutiques and restaurants.

Designed by Group 70 International and built by Armstrong Builders, Makalii comprises 17 four-plex buildings, a Residents Club with barbecue areas, a pavilion, exercise room, spa and infinity pool, walking paths and micro parks planted with native vegetation.

Units are available in three floor plans featuring open, spacious living areas, large lanais and ceilings sloping upward from 9 feet at the entrance to a full 13 feet, culminating in a full glass wall that faces ocean views. Integrating energy-efficient and renewable-energy technology, the homes have been designed to capture prevailing winds for natural cooling, while windows and skylights flood the interiors with natural lighting.

Makalii is scheduled to break ground this summer, with completion projected by the end of 2018. A showroom has been opened at the The Wailea Group in the Shops at Wailea. For more information, call 875-6911 or go to
