New Name, Same Passion, More Services

As of the first of May -“Military Appreciation Month” –VA Mortgage Center of Hawaii will become Veterans United Home Loans of Hawaii. We remain the local branch of the nation’s Number One dedicated VA lender, offering VA home loan financing and educating veterans about their home loan benefits through our monthly free seminars.

To date, our company has loaned over $2.4 billion in VA home loan financing to more than 500,000 military families. The mission of Veterans United Home Loans of Hawaii is to ensure that our veterans can utilize a program created to honor their sacrifice and service to our country.

Unfortunately our industry has treated the VA home loan benefit as just another mortgage prod-uct…it is much more than that. The VA home loan benefit is an entitlement earned by individuals who have sacrificed themselves and their families to protect our freedoms and the rights of all of us to own property. I’ve actually found that this concept takes some of our colleagues by surprise. But it is the way we should all think of the VA loan benefit.

Changing our name has no effect on our operations, our staff, or our commitment to proudly serve those who have served our nation. Helping active military, veterans, and military families achieve the dream of home ownership is a responsibility and a privilege we cherish, and our new name better reflects this. We will have the same relationships and instant access to underwriters, processors, closers, and other loan experts who work hard to get veterans to closing quickly and seamlessly.

Our main focus and strength will always be VA loans, but we are now able to offer an array of additional services and sources of information facilitated by the latest digital technology. Information of interest to veterans planning to purchase a home can be accessed through social media such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Google+, as well as at our own website, veterans

Today, given the more restrictive lending climate, it’s more important than ever that our veterans become educated about the unique advantages of the VA loan program, number one being the ability to qualify for a mortgage and purchase a home with no down payment required. The credit and down payment requirements for conventional financing and other loan types can put home ownership out of reach for military borrowers. But the VA home loan benefit is much less restrictive.

We have been very blessed in fulfilling our mission to help veterans achieve the American Dream they fought to preserve. In August, just eight months ago, we had six employees…we now have 22. Fortunately we were able to obtain additional space at our existing location at 94-539 Puahi Street and are now leasing the entire building. Three of our free monthly seminars will be offered here in our new Educational Center. We also invite you to make an appointment to visit us here at your convenience to find out if you or anyone in your family is eligible for VA loan benefits, whether to buy a new home or refinance an existing home.
