Owner-Occupants Dominate Was Village Demographics

screen-shot-2016-12-09-at-9-03-15-pmWard Village’s Ke Kilohana, located on the corner of Halekauwila Street and Ward Avenue, is among the highrise residences in the redeveloped neighborhood that has experienced a strong response from local owner-occupant buyers, as well as investors.

Of the 424 total condominium homes in the 43-story highrise, only nine homes are still available and are offered at prices starting in the $800,000s. According to Howard Hughes Corporation senior vice president of sales and marketing Bill Pisetsky Sr., more than 91 percent of the residences have been sold to kamaaina.

“Ke Kilohana was designed with kamaaina homebuyers, young professionals and families in mind,” Pisetsky said. “Our vision for this building, and others in Ward Village, was to create homes for buyers attracted by the convenience of the location and the numerous and ever-expanding amenities of the new community. Our 60-acre master-planned community offers an urban lifestyle that is unique in Hawaii.”
Currently, nine homes are available, all three-bedroom, two-bath residences on high floors with views of Diamond Head, the ocean, city, mountains and coastline. The units are approximately 978 square feet and designed with an open floor plan.

Kitchens feature contemporary two-toned cabinetry, stainless-steel, state-of-the-art appliances, luxury vinyl tile flooring, and granite counter-tops. Bathrooms include tub and shower units and are finished with tile flooring and granite counter-tops. Bedrooms and living rooms are carpeted.

Each unit will be equipped with a washer and dryer; LED lighting; high-performance, double-glazed, low-E coated glass; operable awning windows; and a packaged Terminal Air Conditioner.

Designed by the award-winning architecture and design firm AC Martin and Honolulu-based architecture firm CDS International, Ke Kilohana will include a private movie theater, modern fitness center with on-demand workout classes, indoor and outdoor children’s play areas, a co-working space, a music studio and karaoke room, dog stop, landscaped sky deck with barbecue grills, sky lanais overlooking the ocean, and indoor/outdoor lounges for dinner parties and casual events.

The condominium is conveniently situated with a wide variety of retail, dining, entertainment and community venues within walking distance. Residents at Ke Kilohana will have a direct connection to Honolulu’s 22,000-square-foot flagship Longs Drugs store on the ground floor.

Ground was broken for Ke Kilohana in October, and completion is scheduled for 2019.
