Realtors For Opera Marks 8th Season Of Sponsoring Grand Opera In Hawaii
Founded in 2002, Realtors for Opera includes many enthusiastic supporters of the Hawaii Opera Theatre’s annual grand opera productions. This year, the group is the conductor sponsor for the HOT production of Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro with performances January 29, 31, and February 3 at Blaisdell Center Concert Hall.
The season continues with Wagner’s Die Walkure on February 12, 14, and 16 and Puccini’s La Boheme on February 26, 28, and March 2.
By becoming a “sponsor” of an opera at a certain dollar-level, Realtors For Opera participants receive recognition in every program of every opera throughout the season and are invited to a reception and dress rehearsal for the opera they sponsor. In addition, Realtors for Opera is acknowledged in the super-titles above the stage.
“We’ve been really gratified with the ongoing support of our fellow Realtors, particularly during this challenging time for our industry,” said Coldwell Banker Pacific Properties Realtor Maggie Walker, co-chair of Realtors for Opera with founder Christine O’Brien of Coldwell Banker Pacific Properties. Walker, O’Brien, and Lee Alden Chapman of RE/MAX Honolulu also serve on the Board of Directors of Hawaii Opera Theatre.
“Realtors for Opera members absolutely love the opportunity to tour backstage and attend the dress rehearsal, participating in the excitement of live opera performance!,” O’Brien said.
All members of the Hawaii Association of Realtors are eligible for a discount on tickets to performances if ordering for a party of ten or more on a space available basis. They must provide proof of membership in HAR.
