“This three-story home’s spacious loft style layout gives it a contemporary feel while the highly detailed wood work brings a natural and warm ambiance to the living spaces. The residence is a composite of traditional local style exterior and Balinese interior motifs, balancing sophistication and serenity.

“Quality construction by Greg Talboys of AGT Construction and unique lighting design by Rob Billingsley of Designing with Light were major contributors to the overall success of the project.

“The steep sloping downhill lot with panoramic views of the bay naturally led to parking and entry on the top floor which holds the public living spaces including the kitchen, dining room, living room, pool table room, and office. Separating the carport from the interior is an open air garden screened from the interior of house with Balinese grill work. This garden together with the large screened-in covered lanai and the open floor layout create an ideal indoor-outdoor fusion. The merbau cabinetry, floors, ceilings, doors, windows, and lanai grill work, all imported from Bali, add an incredible character and richness to the interior.

“Downstairs on the middle level are the master bedroom suite and a second bedroom. The master bedroom, with a large double walk-in his and hers closet, shares a screened-in lanai with the second bedroom. Continuing down one more floor you come to the yard and a guest suite with a third open-air, screened lanai. The guest suite, which is the size of a one bedroom apartment, serves as an additional luxurious and tranquil private retreat removed from the main living spaces with easy access to the outdoor area. An outdoor deck with a hot tub is located on the grounds, adding another option for enjoyment of the tropical setting.” – Jim Schmit
