New Affordable Rental Opening Soon In The Heart Of Kakaako

Nohona Hale, a new affordable apartment rental community, is nearing completion in the heart of Kakaako. It is minutes away from the water-front, City Hall and Ala Moana. Located at 630 Cooke Street, the mid-rise rental project provides 111 studio apartments of approximately 285 square feet each, plus private 70-square-foot lanais. Rents range from $559 to $999 a month. Co-developed by Bronx Pro Group and EAH Housing, Nohona Hale is scheduled to open in December and is now accepting applications from prospective renters.

The amenities-rich apartment community, features community gardens, lounge area, and fitness room, as well as on-site laundry facilities and bicycle, moped, and surfboard storage areas. The 16-story building has elevator access and a secured entry.

Accessible units for persons with mobility and/ or sensory impairments are available.

Apartments include floor to ceiling sliding lanai glass doors, luxury vinyl tile flooring, low-e insulated windows, energy-efficient appliances and lighting, a garbage disposal, window curtains, cable hook-up, ceiling fans, and a queen size wall bed system with built-in sofa. Green features of the building include LED lighting, low-flow water fixtures, solar photovoltaic (PV) panels, and solar thermal water heating.

Maximum annual household income must not exceed 60% of the Area Median Income limit adjusted by household size for Honolulu. Every applicant must meet the Property’s Resident Selection Plan standards for acceptance as a resident. For units designed as accessible for persons with mobility, visual or hearing impairments, households containing at least one person with such impairment will have first priority.

Signed and dated applications will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis. The application must be completed and signed by the head of household and all household members 18 years of age and older before it can be placed on the wait list.
