The North Shore

Oahu’s North Shore – the epicenter of the sport of surfing – is transformed during late fall and winter months by the north swell and big waves that set the stage for surfing competitions held there annually. These events, as well as the scenic attractions of the North Shore, are widely covered by international news media. The surfing season also generates an influx of visitors, surfers, and competitors from around the world, as well as real estate buyers expecting to find an inventory of the best that the area has to offer on the market at attractive prices.

Locations real estate agent Sean Wingate (RA) has listed a new home at 59-181c Ke Nui Road one house from the beach in the Rocky Point area. Ke Nui is an access road between Kamehameha Highway and coastal neighborhoods extending from Ehukai Beach Park to Sunset Beach. Planted with trees and other vegetation, the road serves as a buffer between the homes and highway traffic noise. Sharing the area is the North Shore Bike Path stretching four miles from Waimea Bay to Sunset Beach.

The home Wingate has listed is available at $2,900,000 including furnishings. Located on a 4,625-square-foot lot, the five-bedroom, five-bath, two-story custom home is 3,184 square feet under roof augmented by 1,219 square feet of open lanai space. A large rooftop viewing deck and barbecue area provide mountain and ocean views from Rocky Point to Sunset Beach. The security system includes door and window sensors, surveillance cameras, and a gated security fence with an automatic rolling gate to access the driveway. Telephone and internet service are available.

Wingate, a long-time North Shore resident and a surfer, said, “The home is located at Rocky Point between Pipeline and Sunset Beach, within the area known as the ‘Seven Mile Miracle.’ Each year the professional world tour turns its focus on this stretch of coastline for the Vans Triple Crown of Surfing and the crowning of the World Surf League World Champion. The second and third events, the Van’s World Cup at Sunset Beach and the Pipe Masters at Banzai Pipeline which follow the Hawaiian Pro at Haleiwa, are held in November and December and are within walking distance of the property.

“In addition to great surf, the North Shore has beautiful white sand beaches where you can enjoy a variety of ocean activities including fishing, diving, snorkeling, and swimming. This home has private deeded access to the beach as well as multiple entrances that allow for flexible living and rental possibilities. The 416-square-foot two-car garage provides plenty of room for storage of surfboards and other equipment, and the driveway has space for two more vehicles.”

He added that the custom built home was designed with careful attention to details and features ceramic tile flooring, high end fixtures, granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, and new split AC systems.

Showings of the property are by appointment only. For further information or to arrange a showing, contact Sean Wingate (RA) at (808) 429-8460 or email sean.wingate@locationshawaii.com.
